Instructor/Nurse Practitioner - HigherEdJobs

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The College of Nursing is seeking a full-time, 9-month term position as Instructor/Nurse Practitioner for the College of Nursing graduate program. Faculty members plan, implement, and evaluate assigned courses either as an individual assignment or as a member of a teaching team. This position includes 20% nurse practitioner practice with South Dakota State University Student Health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's and Master's degrees in nursing with a family practice focus.
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing, or eligible for licensure as evidenced by current licensure in another state.
- Two years of relevant clinical practice experience.
- Ability to teach at the graduate level.
- Application indicates evidence of effective written communication skills.
- Effective verbal communication, interpersonal and technology skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a collaborative health care team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctoral preparation in nursing or related discipline
- Sensitivity of psychosocial issues in health care.
- Experience in college health and/or experience in field of practice.
- Experience in university teaching of nursing.
- Active involvement in professional development to upgrade nursing, teaching and college health expertise.
